Algeria wins the position of Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission

Algeria won the position of Vice Chairperson of the African Union Commission, during the elections held within the framework of the 38th session of the African Union Summit, on February 15, 2025.
Algeria won the position of Vice Chairperson of the African Union Commission, during the elections held on the occasion of the 38th session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
Algeria had decided the outcome of the elections after winning a two-thirds majority of the votes of the members of the continental organization.
Algeria is proud of this great achievement, which confirms Algeria's great position as a pivotal country in the African continent in particular and at the international level in general, as well as the great role played by President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune through the wise leadership he provided to the African Peer Review Mechanism and the African Union and the exceptional success achieved by the continental organization under his leadership.
The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received congratulations from African leaders on the exceptional success he achieved during his wise leadership and thanks for his constant support for the African Union.
