The Algerian Embassy in Astana commemorates the 64th anniversary of the demonstrations of December 11, 1960 - 2024
Astana, December 11, 2024
Today, the Algerian Embassy in Kazakhstan commemorated the 64th anniversary of the demonstrations of December 11, 1960 - 2024, under the slogan: "A people who wanted to live", in memory of the souls of the demonstrations of December 11, 1960, in the presence of the entire embassy staff.
On this occasion, the national flag was raised at the embassy headquarters and the national anthem was played, then the opening chapter of the book was read before a minute of silence was observed in memory of the souls of the righteous martyrs of Algeria.
His Excellency Ambassador Kamel Fenniche also gave a speech in which he mentioned the historical importance of this anniversary, considering that these demonstrations were a decisive turning point in the course of the glorious revolution. Algerians demonstrated by the tens of thousands throughout the country, waving the national emblem to indicate their firm opposition to colonial policy.
The French colonizer brutally killed children, women and elderly people who were peacefully demanding the independence of Algeria across all cities, but the French army committed a human crime against the Algerian people.
His Excellency the Ambassador added that these massive demonstrations were, from an organizational standpoint, a clear indication of the strength of the revolution, and at the diplomatic and media level, these demonstrations strengthened the positions of the interim government as the legitimate representative of the Algerian people in the independence negotiations. Despite the repression machine mobilized by the colonial power, the free Algerian revolutionaries resisted for more than seven years in a fierce war to achieve independence.
His Excellency the Ambassador mentioned the great sacrifices of the righteous martyrs and the necessity of everyone rallying in order to preserve the trust of the martyrs and continue the construction process in our new Algeria.
After His Excellency Ambassador's speech, everyone prayed for mercy on the souls of the martyrs, wishing them glory and immortality, and that their place, God willing, will be in the Garden of Paradise.
Long live Algeria, glory and immortality to our righteous martyrs.
