Astana, November 1st, 2024

The Algerian Embassy in Kazakhstan celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Glorious Liberation Revolution, November 1st (1954-2024) under the slogan: Glorious November, Loyalty and Renewal, on November 1st, 2024, under the supervision of His Excellency Ambassador Kamel Fenniche.

On this occasion, an official ceremony was organized, supervised by His Excellency Ambassador Kamel Fenniche, on November 1, 2024, at 7 pm, at the Rixos Hotel in downtown Astana, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mr. Alibek Bakayev, the Mufti of Kazakhstan, Sheikh Nouryzbay Haji, Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Kazakhstan, a number of senior Kazakh officials, all embassy staff and members of the Algerian community residing in Kazakhstan, Mr. Riad Sahwani and his wife and his daughter, Mr. Mohamed Touahri, and Mr. Drouche Mohamed, representative of the community in Almaty, as well as representatives of the Kazakh press.

After listening to the national anthems of Algeria and Kazakhstan, His Excellency the Ambassador delivered a welcoming speech in Kazakh on this occasion, followed by his speech in which he first stressed that the anniversary of November 1 is one of the greatest days of Algeria, if not the greatest, which ignited the liberation revolution against the colonizer and led to the independence of our dear homeland, after the great sacrifices of our mujahideen and our people. He pointed out that the re-election of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on September 7, 2024, was a decisive step for our country in order to continue the process of building the new Algeria, because economic recovery is the priority of the President of the Republic.

Regarding relations with Kazakhstan, he indicated that these relations date back to 1995 and that the last meeting between the Secretary General of the Ministry, Mr. Lounes Magramane, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mr. Alibek Bakayev, in February 2024 was devoted to continuing negotiations on the agreements concluded between the two countries in all fields.

In this regard, His Excellency the Ambassador congratulated the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the opening of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Algeria and the appointment of Mr. Anvarbek Akhmedov as Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Algeria, wishing him every success in his new duties. He stressed the desire to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who confirmed that the new political orientation of our country will be Asia and Central Asia.

He also pointed out that the new investment law in Algeria protects investors from double taxation, grants them many tax advantages and ensures the stability of laws. The finance law also includes tax measures aimed at encouraging national and foreign investment.

He also pointed out that the global liberal order is currently suffering from a deep crisis due to the struggle for power and the increase in geopolitical tensions, and that global powers want to maintain their dominance over the global order at any cost. Here comes the importance of the midium powers in this order and their participation in multilateral diplomacy, which will allow them to make their voices heard on the international scene.

He pointed out in this regard that global diplomacy must be based on the principles of the United Nations, and that the United Nations Security Council is responsible for maintaining peace and security in the world. However, the aging of the United Nations institutions makes them unable to play their role in what is currently happening in various parts of the world, especially in Gaza.

He added that Algeria rejects war and defends the sovereignty, independence and right of peoples to self-determination. He praised Algeria's diplomatic efforts and the efforts it has made since its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He also thanked all the guests for their presence in celebrating with Algeria the anniversary of the glorious revolution, calling on them to further cooperate for the well-being of all nations and respect for the principles of peace and universal justice, which President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune has always advocated.

He also greeted all members of our Algerian community residing in Kazakhstan, conveying to them the greetings of the President of the Republic and his constant interest in them.

In conclusion, he conveyed his greetings to the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and congratulated him and through him the Kazakh people on the occasion of Kazakhstan's Independence Day on December 16.

Then, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Alibek Bakayev, delivered a speech in which he particularly congratulated Algeria on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation revolution, and reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment, under the auspices of its President Tokayev, to strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Kamel Fenniche, together with Deputy Minister Alibek Bakayev and the Mufti of Kazakhstan, cut a cake decorated with the flags of Algeria and Kazakhstan, followed by a buffet for all guests present at the ceremony. Inside the celebration hall, speeches by the Ambassador and the Deputy Minister were shown, in addition to a series of videos about the Algerian Revolution, the Algerian National Army, tourism, culture and Algerian songs, and a collection of photos about the glorious Revolution and the Algerian Mudjahidines.

The ceremony ended at 11 pm.

Long live Algeria, glory and immortality to our righteous martyrs.
