Distinguished guests,
Good morning, and may your journey be blessed. Today, on this momentous occasion, we stand in reverence before the memory of the National Day of the Mujahid, a day on which the Algerian spirit ascends to the heights of history, and on which the nation recalls the men and women chosen by destiny to be the guardians of the message, the bearers of the banner of freedom, and the architects of the dawn of independence. August 20th represents a pivotal moment in the history of Algeria, a day on which the genius of the Algerian people shone forth, and the voice of the nation united from the Aurès Mountains to the depths of the Sahara, from the city squares to the cells of clandestine action, to declare to the world that Algeria is an invincible nation, and that its will is unbreakable. On this day, the mujahideen ascended to the pinnacle of sacrifice, writing with their pure blood a new page in the epic of liberation, a page that continues to resonate in the conscience of every free Algerian. In this context, two pivotal events stand out, consolidating the course of the revolution and deepening its impact: the North Constantine attacks of August 20, 1955, which constituted a decisive turning point that restored the revolution's momentum and proved to the world that the Algerian people were united in their struggle, capable of turning the tide of the battle and overthrowing colonial control. Then came the Soummam Conference of August 20, 1956, which laid the organizational and political framework for the revolution, establishing a sound structure, a clear vision, and firm principles that enabled the National Liberation Army to unify efforts, consolidate the principle of prioritizing the interior, and enshrine the unity of leadership, thus making the revolution stronger, more effective, and more cohesive. These two events formed fundamental pillars in building the path of liberation, enshrining in the national memory the meaning of sacrifice, organized collective action, and strategic national consciousness.

Commemorating this glorious anniversary is a renewal of our pledge to those who held the homeland dear, gave it the prime of their lives, and left us an enduring legacy: that Algeria is a trust, and that safeguarding this trust can only be achieved through fidelity to history, commitment to the values of the blessed revolution, and tireless work to build a strong, just, and respected state, drawing its strength from the authenticity of its people and the sacrifices of its martyrs and freedom fighters. Today, Algeria is moving steadily towards consolidating a state of institutions, strengthening its international standing, enshrining the principles of peace and cooperation, and defending just causes. We, in this embassy, are committed to ensuring that Algeria's voice is present with dignity, steadfast in its principles, and faithful to its historical mission.
We also take this solemn occasion to raise our hands in prayer for the souls of our righteous martyrs, and we salute the mujahideen who remain among us, those who represent the vital bridge between our glorious past and our promising future. We affirm that the rising generations will remain faithful to the covenant, upholding the values of sacrifice and national commitment. In conclusion, we declare from this platform that Algeria, with its glorious history and the strength of its sons and daughters, will remain standing tall, proud, and capable of facing challenges and building a future worthy of the sacrifices of those who ushered in the dawn of freedom.
