Mr. Attaf Holds Talks with the Iranian Foreign Minister

Continuing the series of meetings he is holding on the sidelines of his participation in the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Abbas Araqchi .

The meeting provided an opportunity to review areas of bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Iran and ways to strengthen and expand them in various fields .

In this context, Mr. Araqchi praised Algeria’s role as a bridge for communication and cooperation at the regional and international levels, and it was agreed on the importance of continuing consultation and coordination on issues of interest to both countries .

The two ministers also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East region, stressing the need to continue dialogue between Iran and the Arab states to end the conflict and promote political solutions that guarantee lasting peace and stability
