The European Union confirms its desire to give a "new impetus" to cooperation with Algeria

 

Florian Ermacura, Head of the "North Africa" ​​Unit in the European Commission's Department for Neighborhood Relations, said that the European Union aims to give a "new impetus" to its cooperation with Algeria.

Mr. Ermacura confirmed, during his working visit to Algeria from January 27 to 30, 2025, the European Union's commitment to strengthening the partnership between the two parties within the framework of developing a "New Charter for the Mediterranean", according to a statement published on the official website of the European Union.

The aim of the visit is to hold consultations with a view to defining the priorities of cooperation between the European Union and Algeria for the period 2025-2027.

The European delegation included representatives of the departments responsible for neighborhood, energy, internal affairs, migration and foreign affairs.

During this mission, the delegation held talks with officials from several Algerian ministries, including the ministries of foreign affairs, energy and mines, industry, trade and finance. It was also received at the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion.

The talks focused on several areas of cooperation, including investment, trade facilitation, renewable energy, migration, culture and job creation.
