Statement by the Independent National Electoral Authority regarding the accreditation of journalists

Statement
Regarding the accreditation procedures for professional journalists working for a foreign-based body to cover the National People's Assembly elections of July 2, 2026.
In the context of the ongoing preparations for the National People's Assembly elections of July 2, 2026, and in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 21-01 of 26 Rajab 1442 AH, corresponding to March 10, 2021, containing the Organic Law relating to the electoral system, as amended and supplemented, and Executive Decree No. 14-152 of 30 Jumada II 1435 AH, corresponding to April 30, 2014, which specifies the procedures for accrediting professional journalists working for a foreign-based body, and in accordance with Decision No. 228 of the Chairman of the Independent National Election Authority, dated 18 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH, corresponding to June 4, 2026, which specifies the procedures for accrediting professional journalists working for a foreign-based body, the Independent National Election Authority informs journalists Professional journalists, whether of Algerian or foreign nationality, working for an organization governed by foreign law, may apply for accreditation to cover the National People's Assembly elections at the Algerian diplomatic mission or consulate in the country where the foreign-lawed organization has its registered office. Applications will be accepted from June 4, 2026, to June 20, 2026, and must include the following documents:
1. A request from the professional journalist's employer;
2. An information form, downloadable from the Independent Authority's website at the following link:
3. A visa application form, downloadable from the websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, and the websites of Algerian diplomatic and consular missions abroad. This form must be completed by the applicant.
4. A copy of the applicant's professional card.
5. Two (2) passport-size photographs.
6. A copy of the applicant's passport.
7. A list of technical equipment.
